Special Address – in memory of Nadia Diuk

Nadia Diuk is a name that resonates with many democracy and human rights activists around the world. Nadia was a big supporter of youth-led movements and democratic initiatives, and a supporter of the Youth Summit as a point of gathering for those young people who stop at nothing to inspire change in their surroundings.

The lecture will be opened by Barbara Haig, Deputy to the President for Policy and Strategy at National Endowment for Democracy, who will speak of the importance of Nadia’s work and legacy, followed by Nadia’s sister, Hanya Dezyk.

More than anything, this lecture will honor the values Nadia believed in and advocated for. Oleksandra Matviychuk, renowned human rights defender and founder of Euromaidan SOS as well as head of Kiev-based NGO Center for Civil Liberties will tell us about the importance of remaining true to the fight for civic freedoms and rights, even in times of great duress.

Speakers:
Hanya Dezyk, Nadia Diuk’s sister
