Is the European model for the Western Balkans destined to fail?
The opening panel of the Summit is an informative debate which will present the various negatives and positives of the Western Balkans European integration processes. After a brief presentation of the two moderators, the discussion will examine where we, as Western Balkans countries, are on our path to becoming „European“, and how the general attitude of the European Union towards the Western Balkans as a viable candidate in the credible enlargement strategy has shifted, as well as how societies and state actors in the Western Balkans approach the topic of EU accession processes as well as what the overarching sentiment towards EU is.

Regional perspective of EuroPride 2022
Due to Belgrade Pride winning EuroPride2022, a regional open meeting will be held with all representatives from all the Pride executive and organization boards from the region. The open discussion will be an exchange of separate and collective Pride experiences, as well as a creative, idea-generating session to come up with concrete plans and ideas for EuroPride 2022 in order to give it more of a regional component.

Dealing with the past - recognizing power in pain
This panel will present the stories of young people affected by the wars in ex-Yugoslavia, and about how they channeled their pain into forces of change, truth and reconciliation. The discussion within the panel will shed light on how victims and victim families can become not only the object of discussion in reconciliation processes, but rather subjects who are active participants in peacebuilding in the Balkans.

Art and activism - the process of formatting your message
Artists who use their work to advocate and to be politically engaged will lead this workshop as a form of explanation of the creative process behind forming advocacy campaigns. They will teach participants about the different forms of expression that can be used to share a message, the tools needed to accomplish those forms and how to separate the message that is being sent out from the format itself.

What social media can't do
This panel will discuss all the illusions and limitations of online campaigns and online forms of activism, with the aim of prompting dialogue about street actions and their importance in raising awareness and generating change both on a local and broader level. Several examples will be given of how certain online campaigns neglected to impact actual change as well as how the bridge from street actions and campaigns to online formats could be built in an efficient way.

Behind the reform scene

Starting point – Thinking behind building (online) media campaigns
This workshop will present to participants how to make those first steps in online campaigns - effective videos, posts and social media activity that could contribute to raising awareness and visibility of their causes and organizations. Day after tomorrow: from advocacy to action
This central panel will explore about processes relating to big regime changes, about misconceptions and lessons learned from these processes, how revolutions look in their aftermath, once mass protests are over and the implementation and structuring of a new system take place. Brains are drained - what now
Two conflicting ideas are widely accepted in our societies: promoting youth mobility and keeping youngsters in our countries.
